I Am Cookie & Sugar Co. is committed to making our website usable by as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technology like screen readers, or who navigate by keyboard rather than a mouse. We're targeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, as our benchmark.

What we've built in

• Semantic page structure and heading order so screen readers can navigate the site logically.
• Descriptive alt text on product and site photography.
• Keyboard-operable navigation, menus, and ordering flow.
• Color choices checked against contrast guidelines for readability.

A work in progress

We're a small, growing site and accessibility is an ongoing effort rather than a one-time checklist — we review and improve it regularly. Some embedded third-party content (our checkout provider, Square, and map or social embeds) follows its own accessibility standards, which we don't directly control.
